As I was sitting on a plane, bound for New York, I found musings in the ever classic SkyMall magazine. It wasn't until I spotted the Marshmallow Shooter and read it's description that I began laughing for about 20 minutes.

Yes. This is a real thing. Who wouldn't want a giant mallow blasted 40 feet into their mouth? I see no downside to this.
"Unlike other marshmallow blasters..." Apparently, this is a thing.

About me: I'm an aspiring scientist and writer who dabbles occasionally in photography. I'm a free-spirit and eternally experimental. I'll try anything at least once. I love traveling, and languages, and learning more about people in general, whether it be through psychology, biology, or culture. As long as it gives me insight into another human being, it fascinates me. I am a huge empathizer, and almost dangerously forgiving, though college has slapped me in the face and let me crack my push-over shell. Sex is a fairly big interest of mine, not just the practice of it but the psychology and art of it. Basically I'm a fan of the erotic (literature, art, music, fashion), and how or if that crosses over into my personal life is not something I typically discuss unless I'm fairly close to someone. What I'm trying to say is, I'm not an unabashed nymphomaniac or anything, just an open-minded interested girl.
I've got my head focused on the future and the past, and am eternally bored of the present. I'm constantly wishing or channeling some past decade or civilization. My favorites are the Middle Ages, Ancient Egypt and the 1950's. I'm always dreaming about my future and the world in the future in general but I'm kind of content to just let the present roll by. I'm loud, opinionated, excessively fond of animals, and an admirer of art, drama and comedy. I'm incredibly friendly, so drop me a line.

PenPal Info
How many penpals do you have? Supposedly one, but I don't really count her as she stopped writing.
How many do you want? One or two.
Do you want email pals? Yes, mainly.
Do you want snail-mail penpals? Not really. Occasional gifts or packages are fun and encouraged, though.
How long are your letters? Like maybe half a page at the least.
How long does it take you to reply to a letter? No more than a week but usually fairly immediately unless I'm busy.
Would you like your penpal to be male or female? It doesn't matter. Male, Female, In Between, I'm cool with everyone.
Age? Like 17-30, but maturity is relative so I am not picky.
What are you looking for in a pen pal? Someone creative, interesting and opinionated. I'm interested in someone who is very open-minded who can handle my rants or discussions.
Where would you like them to be from? Anywhere, as long as we can communicate.
If I sound interesting to someone, which I hope is the case, send me an email at carminalolita@gmail.com.

our new apartment! we went today to sign the lease and put down our security deposit.
the family we're renting from is so down to earth, helpful and friendly. it's going to be a pretty drastic difference from our current situation, in which we've lived here the majority of the year and have never even met our landlord.
( OUR NEW APARTMENT, in pictures. )
we plan to paint and move-in throughout the next month. the great part is that december is free so we already have access to it, but we didn't have to double up on rent.

Ah I forgot to post this. I found this page totally randomly the other day. I saw an article entitled "Your Body Is Not A Myspace" with a photo of a literary tattoo so of course I clicked on it. And I found this: thisrecording.com/fashion/2008/7/22/in-w hich-why-you-wanna-go-and-do-that-love-h uh.html
It features my arm, as well as all the lit tattoos you've probably seen countless times. (Hey! You might be on there too!) I myself am not insulted. It was a good laugh.
I mean dude, your body may not be a Myspace, but mine is replete with glittery GIFs and a cursor with trailing hearts.
Anyways I am still weirded out when I find my Kerouac forearm all over the goddamned internet even when I'm not looking for it.

15. Finish writing The Vampire Wars
16. Actively participate in a NaNoWriMo Challenge
17. Complete a NaNoWriMo Challenge
Completed! The Vampire Wars sucks terribly, but its finished. Phew. I don't think I'll ever do a NaNoWriMo again since November is such a BAD month for me to take on such a project. March would be a better month for me. Maybe I'll do my own next year...
36/101 Completed.

Hey! I've been lurking here for a while, but today I have something that is truly worth sharing.
Not only is the cover a lovely composition, but it is an absolute must-read. I am only seventeen, but of the 150+ books I've read, this one tops them all. It is an always within a never, it will kill you and raise you up from your mottled bones like a phoenix. This book will change your life and your perspective on the world and mankind.

Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight
Location: Bahrain
Occupation: Student
Relationship Status: Single
Nationality: Bahraini
Language: English & Arabic
Religious Views: Muslim
Do you want more LiveJournal friends?: I don't see why not. :)
About me: I'm Fatima. How do you do? I'm told by some that I have an artistic side, and that always makes me so happy. I love to draw, write, dance and sing (not always good at the last one, but when I'm home alone, I like to sing loudly and freely). I'm always daydreaming about something or someone... I love to use my imagination and create a beautiful world of my own, where the only other living things are plants and animals... my friends sometimes scold me for getting carried away, because it isn't good to have your head too high up in the clouds, but I can't help it. I like to lock myself in sometimes. Also, I love it when people talk about themselves, I learn so much... I can go on and on but I'd rather save everything else for the letters.
Music: Demi Lovato, Glee, Paramore, Queen, Rihanna, Disney, Elvis Presely, Glee, Carrie Underwood, 3 Doors Down, Britney Spears, Black Eyed Peas, Vocaloid, Beyoncé, Utada Hikaru, Taylor Swift, Jordin Sparks, Kelly Clarkson, Lady GaGa, Lily Allen, Mariah Carey, ABBA, The Pussycat Dolls, Avenue Q, Scissor Sisters, Mika, Tata Young, Toybox... Mostly Pop, even though I love all the genres really. I want to get into other stuff though, to be honest. I'm beginning to get bored. One reason why I want a penpal - we can exchange artists. :)
Films: I'm not that into movies, but... Disney Classics, The Dark Knight, Slumdog Millionare, anything Hayao Miyazaki.
Books: I'll name writers. Louis Sachar, Eva Ibbotson, Torey Hayden.
TV: I don't watch much TV. Not nowadays anyway. But I'm really into Glee.
How many penpals do you have?: Five.
How many penpals do you want?: Doesn't matter. :)
E-Mail or Snail Mail?: Whatever you choose, I don't mind either.
How long does it take you to reply to a letter?: e-mails can take up to two weeks maximum (sorry. School's started and I don't use the computer as much), snail mail... two days maximum. :)
Handwritten or typed?: Mostly handwritten (for snail mail, obviously).
Gender Preference?: Doesn't matter.
Where in the World?: Doesn'ttt maattteeeerrrrr...
What are you looking for in a penpal?: Pff, doesn't matter! I looooove long letters though.

How many penpals do you have?: Had a few, but not any more!
How many penpals do you want?: As many that want me!
E-Mail or Snail Mail?: SNAIL MAIL.
How long does it take you to reply to a letter?: I start my reply the day I get the letter, so... a few days?
Handwritten or typed?: Handwritten.
Gender Preference?: I don't care.
Where in the World?: Anywhere!
What are you looking for in a penpal?: Someone who talks about things that may not SEEM to matter, but are impostant to them. Tell me about your day at the office. Write me pages upon pages about how you hate apples. Things that make you YOU. I do NOT want to hear about how great your significant other is.
What's the distance from me to that image up ahead, from here to there? It doesn't matter. I'm being pulled forward and that space is lessening by the second. Is it a façade? Does it matter? It's got me on a string by the middle, and I don't feel like trying to escape.
Whatever it takes, I want it. I'm laughing now. All the lights around me make me want to dance. I'm going to get there. I'm going to be that. I hold onto the string and smile at the wind through my hair.
It's filling up the screen. I almost squeal with excitement. It's so bright. I put out my arms, close my eyes, waiting…
Impact.
Is it here yet?
Everything's so dark.
